Thousands of residents in Westchester and Putnam counties are waiting for their lights to turn back on following a line of severe storms that knocked down power lines across the region.
The storms arrived on Thursday morning, May 23, bringing heavy rains, gusty winds, and even hail in some areas, according to the National Weather Service.

Rowseelee, a bubble tea shop in Putnam County at 600 Route 6 in Mahopac, will hold a grand opening celebration on Friday, May 17 from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Blaze Damages Condominium In Mahopac
A residence inside a Hudson Valley condominium complex was left damaged by a fire.
According to the Mahopac Volunteer Fire Department, the incident happened in Putnam County on Friday, April 26, just before 6:40 p.m., when a blaze began inside a unit at a condominium building in Mahopac on East Lake Boulevard.
Arriving crews soon realized they would need more manpower to tackle the blaze, so they received help from the Mahopac Falls, Croton Falls, Carmel, and Yorktown Heights fire departments, the Carmel Police Department, and the Putnam County Bureau of Emergency Services.
